Smalen, dr. E. R. de (Eveline)

Eveline de Smalen (1992) is postdoctoral researcher at the Meertens Institute and guest researcher at the Fryske Akademy. She studied English language and culture and comparative literary studies at Utrecht University. She obtained her PhD in Environmental Humanities at the Rachel Carson Center for Environment and Society at LMU Munich and also did postdoctoral research on the Wadden Sea in literature at this research centre. She also worked as curator at the World Heritage Centre Wadden Sea and as freelance researcher.

Her project at the Meertens Institute is focussed on smell heritage in Friesland.
