Biography

Jos Swanenberg (b. 1968) is a Researcher at the Meertens Institute and a professor at Tilburg University. Swanenberg studied Dutch Language and Literature at Utrecht University and obtained his PhD from Radboud University. At the Meertens Institute he focuses on variational linguistics. He is involved in the projects Diversity in Language and Culture among Young People and The State of the Dutch Language. Before joining the Meertens Institute, Swanenberg was an advisor at the provincial heritage knowledge centre Erfgoed Brabant, where he focused on dialects and intangible heritage in North Brabant.
