Dress and embodiment in the Netherlands, from ca. 1600 to the present day

Short description:

This project investigates how over several centuries body, manners and dress worked in tandem. How were men and women supposed to move, both literally and figuratively? How were their bodies socially constructed through the clothes they wore? And how can we interpret such construction from a Bourdieuan or other phenomenological points of view?
