Dijkstra, W. (Wytze)

Wytze Dijkstra (1999) is an intern at the Meertens Institute. Wytze studies Islamology and religious studies at Utrecht University, with a focus on material religion and religious heritage, studied from anthropological and sociological perspectives. Besides Utrecht, he studied in Cairo and Jerusalem. In his master thesis, through spatial analysis he explores the interface of religious text and symbolism and Holocaust memory in Yad Vashem, Jerusalem. In the research group Ethnology and Oral Culture, Wytze works on the research project on the material remembrance culture around crime investigator Peter R. de Vries, under supervision of Irene Stengs.
