NL-Lab
NL-Lab is a research group of the Humanities Cluster of the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences (KNAW) and was founded by the Meertens Institute and Huygens Institute in 2019. NL-Lab develops research on the subject of Dutch culture and identity past and present. How is national identity created and experienced? How does the Netherlands talk, what does the Netherlands taste like and how does the Netherlands tell the story of its past? Where is Dutch identity at stake and for whom? NL-Lab pools expertise from different fields of knowledge to develop new perspectives on these pressing issues, using innovative research methods.
On this page you will find information on the NL-Lab projects in which the Meertens Institute is closely involved, as well as details of the Meertens Institute researchers associated with them. For information on all of NL-Lab’s projects, staff and partners, please visit NL-Lab’s own website.
