Amsterdam Center for European Ethnology

Het Amsterdam Center for European Ethnology (ACEE) is een (inter-)nationaal coördinerend podium voor onderzoek en onderwijs op het terrein van de Europese Etnologie dat wetenschapsuitwisseling en het samenbrengen van onderzoekers stimuleert. De focus ligt op interdisciplinair onderzoek naar cultuurverschijnselen van het dagelijks leven in Nederland en Europa in hun sociale en ruimtelijke gelaagdheid, zowel in historisch als in vergelijkend perspectief.

Het ACEE (www.acee.nl) is op 1 september 2014 van start gegaan. Het staat onder leiding van prof. dr. Peter Jan Margry, hoogleraar Europese Etnologie aan de Universiteit van Amsterdam en fellow van het Meertens Instituut. Het ACEE heeft onderdak binnen het Meertens Instituut (KNAW) in Amsterdam.

The Amsterdam Center for European Ethnology (ACEE) is a coordinating platform for research and higher education in the field of European Ethnology. It stimulates scientific exchange and cooperation between researchers. The focus is on the interdisciplinary research of cultural practices in daily life in their social, historical and geographical context in the Netherlands and Europe.

ACEE (www.acee.nl) started on September 1, 2014. The direction is in the hands of Peter Jan Margry, professor European Ethnology of the University of Amsterdam and fellow of the Meertens Institute. ACEE is located in the Meertens Institute (KNAW) in Amsterdam.
